What We Do

Ministries carrying the Gospel into daily life

Every ministry of the diocese flows from the same calling: to make Christ known and to serve people spiritually, socially and economically.

How ministry is organised

Four departments, one calling

Across the wider ELCT, ministry work is coordinated through four departments, each headed by a Deputy Secretary General. Pare Diocese carries the same structure into its own parishes and communities.

Mission and Evangelism

The core of all evangelism work, including the Youth Desk and Literature Desk.

Social Services, Women and Children

Health and Diakonia, Education, and Women and Children directorates.

Planning and Development

Coordinates the Strategic Plan, development projects and reporting.

Finance and Administration

Finance, Human Resources, Environment and Transport Services.

Department of Mission and Evangelism

Mission and Evangelism

In responding to the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, the diocese coordinates, facilitates and builds the capacity of God's servants so the Gospel reaches all people and members grow in godliness.

Mission and Evangelism is the backbone of the church. Without it the church would remain like any other charity organisation. As a spiritual institution, the diocese serves people holistically, meeting needs through evangelism, education and health ministries, alongside diakonia and other support.

  • Coordination of evangelism work across every parish and congregation
  • Scholarships and capacity building for ministry personnel
  • Church literature: hymn books, Bible calendars and confirmation class materials
  • Outreach to new groups including bodaboda riders, fishermen and street youth
